The center of the cyclonic storm ‘BUREVI’ has crossed north-eastern coast of Sri Lanka between Kuchchaveli and Thiriyayi between 10.30 - 11.30 pm 02 December.
This Cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 70-80 kmph gusting up to 90 kmph is very likely to move west-northwestwards, emerge into Gulf of Mannar by noon today. Hence the influence of the cyclonic storm is expected to be gradually reduced during next few hours.

Fresh, OCNL’y strong NE’ly winds over SW Bay of Bengal.
Fresh, OCNL’y strong W’ly to NW’ly winds over Basses.
Moderate NE’ly to E’ly winds over Lakshadweep.
Light to moderate Variable winds elsewhere.
Intermittent showers/thundershowers SL west, Comorin and SW Bay of Bengal.
OCNL showers / T’ Showers over Lakshadweep.
SCT showers / T’ Showers over Basses.
Mainly fair weather elsewhere.
Rough, very rough at times over SL west and Comorin.
Fairly rough, rough at times over SW Bay of Bengal and Basses.
