APN - Annual Regional Call for Research Proposals

The APN (Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research) is inviting proposals under two separate programmes, the Annual Regional Call for Research Proposals (ARCP) Programme and the Scientific Capacity Building/Enhancement for Sustainable Development in Developing Countries (CAPaBLE) Programme, for funding from April 2011, and is able to provide a limited amount of financial support for research and capacity development activities that fall within its areas of interest. • 2. Stage 1. Submission of Summary Proposal (Compulsory): Friday, 30 July 2010, midnight (24:00) – Japanese Standard Time
• 3. Stage 2. Submission of Full Proposal by the Successful Stage 1 Proponents (Compulsory & by Invitation Only): Friday, 01 October 2010, midnight (24:00) – Japanese Standard Time

The IPCC has called the Government of Sri Lanka to nominate experts for consideration as Coordinating Lead Authors (CLA), Lead Authors (LA) and Review Editors (RE) for the AR5. The details can be found in the link http://www.ipcc.ch/activities/activitiesar5nomination.htm.

EEARLY ANNOUNCEMENT ON IPCC/AR5 PROCESSES - November 04, 2009

  • The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is now finalizing the scoping process of the Assessment Report 5 (AR5) and the need for Coordinating Lead Authors (CLA), Lead Authors (LA) and Reviewers (RE) is forthcoming.
  • In order to maximize contributing to AR5 process from developing countries, IPCC Focal Point in Sri Lanka wishes to promote involvement of scientists/young experts from Sri Lanka, by nominating suitable experts for WG1, WG2, WG3, SYR etc.
  • The nomination process as per IPCC guide lines is to begin by early January 2010 and this is early information on call for nominations and to be ready for the event that is expected to be accomplished by 2013-2014.
